I decided to jog today instead of resting as I have nothing to do today, and to build up my stamina, as I have not run any mid to long distance lately.
Today Jogging Distance: 5.8 km
Timing: 34 min 15.08 s
Speed: 10.1 km/h
Total Jogging Dist (Weekly): 12 km
Today Jog: Today is the first time that i decided to jog in the afternoon. An afternoon jog is really more tiring than a night or morning job. I only managed to run the KPE route that i use on my 1st post 1x.

Daily min distance
I have not been jogging for the past 2 weeks due to a combination of the 7th hungry ghost month and injury. Luckily it is just a minor injury and I am able to carry on my jogging. I have also decided to clock a minimum of at least 2km daily.
Argh.. I miss the nike run registration as i thought that there will be no Nike run in Singapore this year. Last year Nike run is the 1st race that I have participated and I was hoping to join this year run too. :(
Today Jogging Distance: 2 km
Timing: 9 min 41.79 s
Speed: 12.4 km/h

A messy run
Today mark the end of the week and I manage to clock 27km for the whole week. Although i have set a 25km target for this week, my actual target is actually 30 km. Looking on the bright side, this week is the first week that I started to jog for long distance, so I guess it is still a good start. Due to the mid 7th lunar month, and the fact that I can only jog at night next week, I think I will be running short distance next week, and hopefully I will be able to achieve good timing for my short run.
Today Jogging Distance: 10.6 km
Timing: 1 hr 20 min
Speed: 7.9 km/h
Total Jogging Dist (Weekly): 27 km
Today Jog: I decided to jog around evening time, as it is near the 15th of the chinese lunar 7th month, which mean that there will be alot of burning of joss paper, and also because it is better not to run around late night during this period. I plan to run around the Hougang area but I miss the junction and almost run to Ang Mo Kio instead. Luckily, I decided to turn along Serangoon Ave manage to get back to Hougang instead of running toward CTE and AMK central. I did not completed the run again, stopping at around 7.2 km mark, walk for 1.9 km before jogging again on the last 1.5km, hence my timing and average speed is abit pathetic today. However, I still manage to maintain 9 km/h for my jog (excluding the walk). As I did not know the distance of the actual route until I completed my jog, I was expecting the distance for the route to be around 11 to 12 km, as the route seem much longer than my usual 9km route.
Today route: I will consider today route as a linear route although it look circular, as it is a random route that I started. Starting from the green dot as usual, turn and jog along the entire Seng Kang East Dr and turn left at the end of the SK East Dr, which is a cross junction, and continue jogging on the whole stretch of Seng Kang East Road and Buangkok Green. At the end of the Buangkok Green road, which is another cross junction, turn left again and jog along the YCK road and then turn left toward HG Ave 2 when u reach a flyover. Once you reach the next T-junction, turn left and jog along the whole stretch of HG Ave 8 till u reach around Ponggol Park, and then make a last left turn at the next cross junction and jog along Serangoon Road until the yellow dot, which is the 'finishing point' of the route.
Estimate Distance: 9km

Map is a screenshot from google map. The green dot is the starting point, the red line is the intended jogging route, the blue line is the extra route which I took today, and the yellow dot is the finishing point.
Review
Pro: The road from SK East Road to Buangkok Green and the whole of Hougang Ave 8 is quite a long stretch and it is always good to run long stretch of road without stopping. There are little to average human traffic along the whole route. The route is quite well lit in general.
Con: There are alot of minor junctions and some major junctions along the entire route, which means that there might be alot of interruption during the jog and you might need to wait for traffic lights. There are a few slopes along the route, depending on the direction of your jog, increasing the difficulty of the route. The last stretch along Upper Serangoon road is quite deserted at night and you may turn at Hougang Ave 10 instead.
(Note: Unable to comment on Yio Chu Kang road as I did not run along the road)
Recommendation: This route is suitable for running at anytime of the day. 2.5 out of 5 star.

2km Run
I manage to find a time, speed and distance calculator online to calculate my speed. In the past, I only record my timing and distance, but for now I decided to also monitor my speed to gauge and maintain my speed for long distance running. I feel that it is important to moderate my speed so that I will be able to last for long distance. Anyway, just click here for the online time, speed and distance calculator. It is very simple and easy to use.
Today Jogging Distance: 2 km
Timing: 9 min 7.99 s
Speed: 13.1 km/h
Total Jogging Dist (Weekly): 17 km
Today Jog: I decided to have a short and fast run today to prepare and rest for my 9km run tomorrow. I manage to break my best timing for this year, although it is still 40 seconds off my personal best. Hopefully I will be able to break my personal timing by the end of this year.
Today Route: Today route is just a normal route around my block that I always use for my short distance run. It is another circular loop, so you can actually run more laps if you feel the distance is too short.
Today route is very simple and straightforward. Starting from the green dot, jog along Sengkang East Way and turn right whenever you encounter a T-junction (or traffic light). You will run from Sengkang East Way to Sengkang East Dr, and then a short distance of Sengkang East Ave and finally another turn to Rivervale Dr, and then all the way back to the starting point.
Estimate Dist: 2 km

Map is a screenshot from google map. The red line is the jogging route for today.
The green dot is the starting point.
Pro: This is another route which you can enjoy your run without any interruption from the traffic as you does not need to cross any traffic light. The distance is quite short, and is suitable for 2.4km training. It is quite well-lit for the whole route.
Con: There is heavy human and vehicle traffic during the peak period along Rivervale Dr. There are 4 small entrance along the route linking to the various multi-storey and underground carpark, hence you might need to wait for vehicles entering and leaving the
entrance.
Recommendation: This route is very suitable for night and early morning run, average for the rest of the day. 3 out of 5 star.

First Post
It is always good to have a nice starting introduction to a new blog. I have just start jogging recently and I like to jog along the neighbourhood, explore new routes and share my experience on the various routes that I took. I live in the north eastern part of Singapore, hence my jogging route will be around the north eastern part of Singapore. My starting point will always be at the basketball court near my house.
Currently, i use the google distance calculator to keep track on the distance that I have jog, and if anyone have other good distance calculator, feel free to share it here. I also uses can.com last time, but apparently it has been shifted or close down, hence I am now left with only google distance calculator.
Today Jogging Distance: 6.3 km
Timing: 29min 58.7 s for 4.8 km
Speed: 9.6 km/h
Total Jogging Dist (Weekly): 15 km
Today Jog: I decided to jog at around 10pm today, and try a new route as traffic is still quite heavy at this timing. I jog till I reach around 6.3km before i stopped, as I think that I have not recovered from my 9km jog on Monday, and my leg is starting to feel the strain. Hopefully, i am able to cover at least a total of 20-25 km for this week.
Today's Route: The route that i highlighted today is abit different from my actual run. Today route is a circular loop; starting point can be on any point on the route, and my starting point should be the cross junction between Buangkok East Drive and Upper Serangoon Road. However, for my run today, i just cut in from Hougang Ave 10 to Hougang Ave 8 and then Ave 7.
Starting from the green dot, jog along Upper Serangoon road and turn left at the next cross junction and jog along the whole of Hougang Ave 7, till u reach another cross junction between Hougang Ave 7 and Tampine Road. Turn left again and jog along Tampine Road till u reach KPE, and jog on the pavement beside the KPE towards Buangkok East Drive. (Alternative, you can continue jogging along Tampine Road and u will still reach Buangkok East Drive, but the route is quite deserted.) Continue along Buangkok East Drive and u will reach back to the starting point. (Note: It is up to each individual if u prefer to run clockwise or anticlockwise)
Estimate Dist: 5.8km

Map is a screenshot from google map. The red line is the jogging route for today.
The blue line is my actual jogging route. The green dot is the starting point.
Review:
Pro: U can enjoy your run without any interruption from the traffic as you does not need to cross any traffic light. The route along Hougang Ave 7 is also quite near to a small park, and running there is quite pleasant. The distance is also average, not too long at 5.8km. There is little human traffic along the whole of this route.
Con: It can be quite deserted (and abit errie) along Tampine road, and it is not too well-lighted along this stretch. There are also quite alot of vehicles from Tampine road to KPE, as the road lead to an expressway. The terrain around Tampine road is also not even, and there are some overhanging branches from the trees along the pavement.
Recommendation: I feel that this route is suitable during the late morning or early evening, and definitely not suitable for any night run. 2.5 out of 5 star.
